Burnham 157-2 beat South Petherton 154-7 by 8 wkts
BURNHAM continued their unbeaten record this season with a comprehensive eight-wicket win over South Petherton.
Bowling first, Burham took two early wickets with Rob Driver and Mike Green doing the damage.
But P Acreman (89 not out) held the South Petherton innings together with N Boon (35) as the pair looked to be putting themselves in a dangerous position.
Veteran Brian Brogden came to the fore though to claim 4-44 and rout the middle and lower order, helping to restrict the visitors to a below-par 154-7.
In reply, Brad House and Jim Bloodworth got the run chase off to a good start until House (13) fell.
Driver (49 not out) then joined Bloodworth (34) but once he fell, Scott Darlymple (49 not out) carried the baton with Driver and the pair knocked off the runs comfortably.
This Saturday, Burnham welcome Wembdon 2nds at home for a 2pm start.
