WHITE EAGLES III 0 BURNHAM LADIES 7
BURNHAM Ladies secured their first win of the league campaign in emphatic style with a 7-0 demolition of White Eagles.
Amy Edmundson, Caitlin Berry and Kerry Harvey provided plenty of skill and pace, whilst Caroline Hunt and June England had the drive and intuition - all five got on the score sheet.
However, it was Carly Bush that stole the player of the match award, particularly from Berry - with top notch performances from midfield, constantly working up and down the pitch, keeping the tempo high throughout.
Hunt gave the blues the perfect start with a great run and finish straight off the training pitch, after Sarah Johnson had played the perfect ball into her.
Burnham dominated possession and created numerous opportunities but just could not build on their lead until late in the first half.
Berry this time benefitting from Bush's unselfish running and pass, as she found herself one on one and coolly slotted past the keeper.
England then made it three with a sweeping strike after Berry began to turn provider. The second half saw much of the same.
Burnham forced several short corners from which Hunt had two terrific strikes blocked or saved and there were many more goalmouth scrambles.
Harvey then tapped in after good work by England and Bush, before Edmundson got in on the act.
Her two goals were almost identical as she swept in first time after fantastic dribbling and crossing from Berry down the right.Sandwiched in between her brace was another from Hunt as she popped up on the far post to flick in after more fine work by Harvey and Bush.
