Highbridge Town 8, North Petherton 1
HIGHBRIDGE Town have moved up to second place in Division 1 of the Taunton & District Saturday League following their emphatic 8-1 victory over North Petherton at the weekend.
Ryan Elliott bagged a hat-trick and Wayne Hand two as Highbridge made short work of the division’s bottom club.
Will Bailey, Chris Taylor and Brynn Pearce added the others as Town boosted their goal difference in what is turning out to be a very competitive division.
Lewis Buller notched North Petherton’s consolation.
Highbridge are looking forward to a showdown on Saturday when they entertain third-placed Locomotives (ko 2pm).
Highbridge Reserves, who were without a game at the weekend, face a tough trip on Saturday to Division 3 unbeaten leaders The Gallery.
