LYMPSHAM cricketer Sophie Luff continues to impress on the international stage after being selected to tour Sri Lanka with England Women’s Academy.

Sophie, 20, has been named in a 14-strong squad to play four Twenty20s and two 50 over fixtures against Sri Lanka women.

The top-order batsmen flew out to Colombo yesterday (Wednesday) for the two-week tour, which forms part of England Women’s ongoing preparations ahead of the IIC World Twenty20 competition in Bangladesh later this year.

Sophie joins fellow Somerset player Fran Wilson in the squad and Somerset Women’s and Girls’ head coach Caroline Atkins told Somerset County Cricket Club’s official website: ““It is good for Sophie Luff who began the winter by being included in the England under 19 touring party to South Africa, where she did well.”
