BERROW Reserves cruised to an emphatic 6-0 victory over Winscombe Reserves to climb to seventh in Division 1 of the Weston & District Saturday League.

In Division 2, Burnham United A suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Congresbury, to remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Shipham were beaten 2-1 by Portishead Town B in Division 3 and Wedmore earned a point at second placed Uphill Castle Reserves in a 1-1 draw.

King Alfred Sports Centre’s title hopes were given a setback as they were beaten 3-1 by Pill United in Division 4 – while Shipham Reserves lost 2-1 at home to Worle Reserves.

In Division 6, Wedmore Reserves missed the opportunity to close the gap on leaders Berrow A, as they were beaten 2-0 by AFC Nailsea Reserves.

King Alfred Sports Centre face a Challenge Cup quarter-final tie against Hutton Reserves on Saturday.

Berrow Reserves are in Division 1 action when they are at home to bottom team Churchill Club 70 Reserves.

In Division 3, Wedmore are running out of games to save themselves from the drop but will hoping to pick up three points on Saturday when they travel to fellow strugglers Winscombe A.

League title favourites Berrow A will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record in Division 6 when they entertain bottom club Westend Reserves.

Second place Wedmore Reserves cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to join Berrow in Division 5 next season.

They should secure three points on Saturday when they are at home to Clevedon Utd B.

Burnham United B will be looking to pull away from the bottom of the table when they travel to third-placed Worle Rangers Res.
