Somerset County Premier
Clutton 3, Berrow 1
BERROW were unlucky to leave Clutton empty handed after a strong performance against the league leaders.
Clutton are a strong well organised team and they started the better, forcing Berrow to defend deep early on as they struggled to keep the ball.
They opened the scoring on 10 minutes with a shot from 25 yards which Nick Slack could only turn onto the bar and into the net.
Clutton continued to press Berrow all over the pitch, but the back line, led by Kyle McErlain was working hard to keep them out.
Berrow started to get a grip on the midfield through Craig Hirons and Luke McErlain - with Steve Leaf’s pace and direct running causing problems.
And when he got on the end of a through ball from Luke McErlain and squared the ball across goal, Dave Keirle was inches away from tapping in.
Shaun Lismore, making his first appearance of the season, was impressing and when he came close on a number of occasions.
Tom Yates and Jack Shepherd replaced Morgan and Shaun Lismore, but although Scott Lismore and Keirle both had chances, Berrow went home empty handed.
