Tribute Somerset II South
Burnham II 22, Wiveliscombe 13
BURNHAM II battled to a hard-fought nine-point victory over Wiveliscombe on Saturday.
Wivey started brightly, and forced and converted an early penalty to take the lead.
This was followed by a well-worked try from their centre to extend their lead to 10-0.
Burnham began the second half in much brighter fashion and Sam Wall followed up a scrappy defensive clearance to cross for an unconverted try.
Wivey retaliated with a penalty to make the score 13-5, but Matt Love soon broke away to register Burnham’s first try of the afternoon.
Love struck again minutes later to fire his side into the lead for the first time in the game, – and they soon rounded things off with a fourth try as Jake Allen crossed following a neat pass from Will Conway.
