MARCUS Hunt guided Wedmore II to an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Taunton St Andrews B in Division Nine SE of the Somerset Cricket League on Saturday.

Hunt made an unbeaten 64 as Wedmore chased down 190 in comfortable fashion - with M Wall (47) and A Patch (33no) also contributing.

Earlier, T Ingle (4-23) and B Halford (1-26) ensured Saints could only muster 189-8 from their 45 overs.

In Division Three, Wedmore's first team were also comfortable winners as they cruised to a six wicket triumph at Street II.

Phil Patch (25no) and L Young (29) helped Wedmore to a straight forward 95-4 after R Burgess (4-15), M Boley (2-24) and J Burgess (2-15) had ransacked the Street line up for just 94.

In Division Five, East Huntspill won a low scoring contest with Bishops Lydeard II by 11 runs.

Batting first, Easts were all out for 143, despite 43 from Rob Pomeroy and 28 from Andy Chedzey.

But Paul Bagg came up trumps for the hosts with a devastating spell of 5-45 to seal a narrow victory for his side.

In Division Eight South, East Huntspill II suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Middlezoy.

Easts went down by seven wickets to their local rivals, having only mustered 134-9 batting first.

J Picton (39) and D West (27) top scored for Easts, but 'Zoy were rarely troubled in their pursuit, reaching their target with seven wickets to spare.
