BURNHAM and Berrow Golf Club members turned out in force to support club captain Neil Darby on his Captains’ Day.

Andy Fisher, Matt Houghton and John Nuttall swept to victory with 92 points in the best two stableford scores to count from three format winning by a massive six point margin.

Four handicapper Matt Houghton played a major part in the team’s massive score by covering the difficult links course in just 68 shots, which included four birdies and an eagle at the fourth.

This was almost matched by fellow team member Andy Fisher who also plays off four handicap who made three birdies and an eagle at the 13th.

Second place went to Brett-Halling Brown, Bryn Jones and Steve O’Connell who beat Steve Cartwright, Stuart Cook and David Lloyd into third place on a countback after they had tied with 86 points.

The best score by a ladies team went to Mel Bell, Annette Poynton and Alice Robinson with 78 points.

Following the conclusion of play a massive downpour caused a slight delay before newly appointed club professional David Haines entertained the members with his golf trick shot show.
