BURNHAM United will be looking to build on last season’s encouraging signs when they kick off their 2014-15 league campaign this weekend.
United begin the new season with a trip to Glastonbury FC on Saturday before welcoming Clevedon Utd the following weekend.
Luke Hussey’s side finished 13th in last season’s Somerset County League First Division with 34 points from 34 games.
Re-structuring of the league has since taken place and they will compete in Division One West this season.
Hussey, pictured, fielded a young squad for much of last season, and that approach paid dividends with a number of match-winning performances from younger players towards the end of the season.
A good run in the Somerset FA Senior Cup was a huge highlight for United as they defeated local rivals Berrow 4-2 in the quarter-final.
Two goals apiece from Russell Holley and Nathan Bishop on the day were enough to take the derby spoils.
