Watchet 178-8 v Burnham - Match Abandoned
HEAVY rain put and an end to Burnham's bid for fourth league win of the season, as their match against Watchet was abandoned at tea.
Watchet had posted 178-8 from their 45 overs thanks to 35 from M Lovell and further contributions from R Strong (24), C Strong (22), M Strong (21) and P Manley (23).
With the ball, Brian Brogden was the pick of the Burnham bowlers, picking up 3-32 from 12 economical overs in the middle of the innings.
Mike Green (1-37), Rob Driver (1-55), James Annison (1-30) and P Harris (1-13) all grabbed one wicket apiece as Burnham's bowlers turned the screw on the Watchet batsman.
But as the players sat down for tea, the heavy rain came in put an early end to proceedings.
