IT was a day of batting collapses for East Huntspill as both the first and second team crashed to defeat in run chases.

The first team were bowled out for 113 as they looked to cahse down Trull's 218-6.

Andy Chedzey top scored with 39 - and Phil Bagg was the pick of the bowlers with 3-67, but Easts finished up 105 runs short.

East Huntspill II were rolled for just 98 in pursuit of Wellington III 139-5.

J Melhuish (2-41), J Picton (1-18), J Hicks (1-27) and K Crenol (1-33) all picked up wickets as Wellington were restricted to 139-5 batting first - but the reply never got going and only P Hancock (28) added a contribution of any significance for East, who ended up 41 runs short.

In Division 9NW, Lympsham were thwarted by the rain having amassed 260-4 from their 45 overs against Weston-super-Mare IV.

J Parsons (115) and A Hall (89) were both in superb form for the hosts in a destructive batting effort - but the rain came early in the Weston reply, with the visitors 24-1 and right up against it.

Elsewhere in the division, Huntspill & District II were another side left bemoaning the rain.

They had Wedmore A reeling at 8-2 in reply to 179-8, after A Jarvis (39) and B Durkin (34) had earlier top scored for Huntspill.
