Berrow 0, Bridgwater Town Reserves

BERROW fought out a goalless draw with Bridgwater Town last Saturday, in a real blood and thunder encounter.

Despite the lack of goals, the game was packed with incident with the hosts finishing the game with 10-men as Dave Kierle was given his marching orders.

Berrow were forced into one change with striker Keirle having to start in goal due to Nick Slack being stuck in traffic en route to the game.

It was a first half that lacked any real incident, neither keeper was tested and Berrow's back line dealt well with blustery conditions as are a custom at Red Road.

But the second half of the game exploded into life.

Slack was bought on at the expense of Shaun Lismore, Keirle retaking his place in the front line.

He wasn't to be there for long however, when the visiting forward committed a foul on Scott Lismore, that incensed the Berrow players - the ensuing pushing and shoving saw Keirle dismissed for raising a hand.

The Bridgwater player escaped without so much as a talking to, much to the dismay of the home faithful.

From then on it the game became fraught and scrappy.

Despite the numerical advantage, Berrow did look the more likely victors with Jordy Eldridge and Jack Taylor forcing good stops from the young Town keeper.

However it was not to be Berrow's day and they were left wondering what could have been as both defensive units took the plaudits.
