Berrow 3, Clutton 4

BERROW slipped to a third straight defeat on Saturday, coming out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller against Clutton.

Jack Taylor scored twice and Scott Lismore once, in a much improved Berrow performance – but last season’s runners-up had too much for the hosts.

After an even first 10 minutes it was Berrow who struck first, with Jack Taylor racing onto Shaun Lismore's pass before giving the keeper no chance.

Taylor went close to doubling the lead and his atlly minutes later, but dragged his effort just wide of the upright.

The visitors equalised against the run of play on 25 minutes when a ball into the box was cleverly hooked over Slack and into the corner.

Taylor soon restored the lead after a one-two with Scott Lismore - and could have made it three after more good work from Lismore, but again dragged his shot wide.

Berrow were made to pay a minute before half time when, after losing the ball, Clutton’s striker raced through to tuck home from 12 yards and put his side into the lead.

On 60 minutes, Clutton added a fourth courtesy of a free header from six yards out, but Berrow continued to push forward with Jamie Reddish having two shots blocked - and with Harry Taylor driving them on from midfield.

With seven minutes remaining, Jack Taylor crossed for Scott Lismore to turn the ball home, but although they pushed hard for an equaliser, Clutton held out for a hard-earned win.
