BRIDGWATER Sports booked their place in the second round of the Rowbarton Cup with a battling 1-0 victory over Dulverton Town.

An own goal was enough to see Sports through in a hard-fought contest.

In Division One, Middlezoy Rovers Reserves remain undefeated after a 5-0 win over Porlock.

Kyran Devitt (2), Regan Blake, Jamil Choudhury and Dave Warren were on target for ‘Zoy.

North Petherton overcame Staplegrove Reserves 3-2 thanks to a brace Senna Clapp - Tim Gibbs scored his side’s third to seal the win.

Division Two leaders Westonzoyland remain top and undefeated following a 4-1 win over Morganians.

Callum Butler, Andrew Evans, James Millard and Ollie Ham all betted for Zoyland - Andrew James replied for the away side. Wembdon won an eight-goal thriller with The Gallery 5-3 – and in Division Three, leaders Sydenham Rangers maintained their good form and keep their 100% record after a 3-1 victory over Highbridge Town Reserves.

Jason Stephenson, Martyn Milton and Jake Adey all scored, Chris Taylor replied for Highbridge.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers were beaten 4-2 by Williton, despite goals from Jim Winchester and Shane Thompson scored - and North Petherton Reserves beat Midlezoy Athletic 2-1, with goals from Dan Wilkes and Lewis Irish - while Dan Russell replied for Middlezoy.

In Division Five, Bridgwater Wolves have gone top and now have four wins from four games the latest a 9-0 away win at Morganians Reserves. Mitch Marks netted a hat trick, Bard Kelly got a pair with Brad Walford, Jack Gardner, Jake Sharman and Charlie Hill all chipped in with one each.

It was a good start to the game between Fivehead and The Gallery Reserves, with both teams having penalties saved – but The Gallery took the lead on the 35th minute mark through Jacob Shoemark. From the start of the second half Fivehead came out the better side and were level on the 75th minute mark from a great finish from Ashley Smith.

It was a game of two halves between Bridgwater Sports Colts and North Curry, that was dictated by the wind.

It saw North Curry take a 1-0 lead into half time with a cool finish from Joe Gratton. Sports made full advantage of playing with the wind to score two early second half goals and continue to press and scored two further goals to finish up 4-1 winners - on target were Gary Howes with two, Ed Howes and Richard Smith.
