Berrow JFC Girls u12 2, Galmington Dragons u12 6

BERROW welcomed Galmington to Red Road this weekend in a thrilling end to end game.

Galmington arrived with only six players so it was decided to play six-v-six - this meant that Berrow had three subs this week.

Berrow tested the Dragons keeper on many occasions but could not find the back of the net.

Galmington broke the deadlock on 12 minutes with a counter attack which left Berrow's keeper Caitlin stuck against two Galmington players who calmly slotted the ball home for the opening goal.

Berrow were back in the game right from the kick off when Fern decided that she would shoot from the half-way line which fired into the bottom corner stunning everyone.

Christiana and Sophie were working hard in defence with some great tackling and passing the ball wide for Deanna and Fern.

Once again Berrow's midfield failed to track the Galmington players back and let in the Galmington attack in to take the lead once again.

Fern was soon pushing forward for her second goal and had some great challenges against the Galmington defenders but Fern had the final say with a superb strike.

A bizarre incident in Berrow's penalty area resulted in a penalty being awarded to Galmington, Caitlin stood strong and made a double save to keep the scores level.

With five minutes left on the clock, the game looked like it was going to finish in a draw but Galmington had other ideas.

With the Berrow midfield pushing forward to try and win the game they left a few gaps which allowed Galmington in several times to take the final score to 2-6 to Galmington.
