Berrow 6, Cutters Friday 3

JACK Taylor scored four times as Berrow got a much needed three points with a 6-3 victory over Cutters Friday – in a game with nine goals and two red cards.

Dave Keirle and Harry Taylor completed the scoring for Berrow, but Scott Lismore saw red for two bookable offences midway through the second half.

Berrow got off to a terrible start with a mishit back pass allowed the Cutters’ striker in to score after a minute. But the hosts equalised within five minutes when Luke McErlain’s corner was met by Tom Yates and when his header was blocked, Dave Keirle was on hand to score.

Berrow took the lead on ten minutes with Harry Taylor scoring from an almost impossible angle with a fiercely struck cross-shot.

Berrow were well on top and the Cutters’ ‘keeper kept his side in the game with two great saves to deny Jack Taylor and Scott Lismore.

Cutters were reduced to 10 men on 25 minutes when a tangle led to their midfielder lashing out and catching Lismore in the face.

Berrow were then awarded a penalty after push on Lismore and Jack Taylor comfortably sent the keeper the wrong way.

The final 10 minutes of the half were very scrappy and Cutters pulled a goal back with the last kick off the half.

The goal gave Cutters hope and they were given more when on 55 minutes the referee evened the numbers up, sending Scott Lismore off for two yellow cards.

Berrow continued to press forward and were rewarded when Taylor beat his man on the left and hit a shot in off the inside off the post with the keeper not moving.

With 10 minutes remaining Harry Taylor fed brother Jack and he turned the last defender before finishing superbly to seemingly end the game - only for Cutters to score when a strike from 25 yards beat Slack.

Within minutes it was all over when Ryan McErlain played in Taylor and his first touch took him away from the last defender before coolly slotting past the onrushing ‘keeper for his fourth of the day.

There was still time for Keirle to hit the post as Berrow ended the game on a high with a well deserved three points.
