Tribute Somerset Two South
Taunton III 51, Burnham II 19
A DEPLETED Burnham side crashed to a heavy defeat at the hands of Taunton, having travelled with just 13 available players.
Having been loaned two players by Taunton, the Burnham squad were not taking this laying down but Taunton continued to exploit weaknesses and the score racked up.
Add to this injury to Matt Mitchell saw another Taunton player pull on a Burnham top - but Wills Conway and Massie Shaw formed a good partnership in the centre that produced three tries - two for Conway and one for Astill.
Burnham went close to clinching the bonus point late on, but their efforts weren't quite enough and they left empty handed.
All players who turned out are to be applauded - Slater and Cutter worked tirelessly, while Reese and Coggins grafted continuously.
Burnham II host Minehead Barbarians II this weekend.
