Berrow 3, Frome Collegians 1

BERROW finally managed to put back-to-back victories together with a comfortable 3-1 win over high-flying Frome Collegians.

Berrow went into the game buoyed by their recent change in fortunes, on home turf against a side who were depleted as Berrow were in the reverse fixture.

The hosts got off to the perfect start when Tom Yates turned in James Reddish's centre from the right hand side.

It was a short lived lead however, as Berrow allowed the visitors centre midfielder to ghost through the middle of the park to score almost unopposed.

Berrow rallied, and Ross McErlain headed on to the post from a delicious Luke McErlain cross.

Berrow did everything but find the net as the first half drew to a close.

Second half Berrow picked up where they left off and soon regained the lead when Luke McErlain once again provided the ammunition from a corner for Yates to double his and Berrow's tally with a thumping header.

Berrow continued to create good chances and were only denied by the linesman flag on two occasions.

Slack in the Berrow goal was largely untroubled apart from one goal mouth scramble that the hosts did well to clear.

Berrow finally rounded the game off in the final minutes when Kyle McErlain won the ball with a great challenge just inside his own half and played an excellent ball for Jack Taylor to outstrip the last defender and finish at the second time of asking.
