BURNHAM United will be hoping to play their first game in 2015 when they welcome St George Easton-in-Gordano to Cassis Close on Saturday, following last weekend’s postponed fixture against Portishead Town Reserves.
Heavy rain last week left the pitch waterlogged – and further wet weather so far this week has already put this weekend’s game in doubt.
If the game does go ahead, United face a stern test against fourth-place St George, who are unbeaten in four of their last five games and just four points off league leaders Clevedon United.
United are yet to feature so far in 2015 after their January 3 fixture was also postponed.
Burnham United Reserves’ fight for survival in Division Two West suffered a huge blow as they were beaten 2-1 by bottom club Weston St Johns Reserves.
The reserves have now lost seven of their last eight games, conceding 42 goals in the process.
They are without a fixture this weekend, but host eighth place Uphill Castle on January 24.
