SATURDAY'S Weston & District League football was something of a washout, with only four games surviving the heavy rain.

In Division three, Wedmore climbed to third with a 4-1 win at Cheddar A to leave them two points off top spot - and in round one of the Davis Shield, Westend Reserves won a ten-goal thriller at Clapton in Gordano Reserves 6-4.

In the quarter-finals of the Knock-Out Cup, Draycott were 4-1 winners over Hutton, while Clapton in Gordano beat Wrington Redhill Reserves 3-2.

All other fixtures were postponed.

Berrow Reserves host fifth-place Tickenham United in Division One this weekend - while in Division Two, Burnham United A welcome Clevedon United A.

Wedmore travel to Shipham in Division Three - and in Division Five, Wedmore Reserves take on league leaders Clevedon United B.
