Burnham 6, White Eagles III 0

BURNHAM seem to have rediscovered their scoring touch, as they hit the Eagles for six on Saturday.

They were rarely troubled in a one-sided affair with GK Vicky Morley hardly touching the ball.

This was because her defence, which included Nicki Glanville, Jenna Bushell and Sarah Johnson were so composed in front of her.

Chelsea Fisher in particular had a very good game, adapting to different positions and providing some excellent through balls.

Burnham were on the front foot from the start with some excellent attacking from the front three. They created numerous penalty corners and it was from one of these that they opened the scoring through Caroline Hunt who hit an unstoppable shot from top D.

Tracey Dunn doubled their lead in identical fashion with another stunning strike for her first of the season.

Burnham stepped up another gear after half-time, despite having to reshuffle due to injury.

Sarah Johnson pushed up to great effect and began to link well down the right - her ball to the left found Carly Bush steaming into the D to fire in a lifted shot for the third.

Jessie Woodberry looked lively in midfield and Burnham looked like they could score whenever they attacked.

Hunt picked up the ball and drove determinedly into the D, rode several block tackles before forcing home her second and Burnham's fourth.

Bushell then began a move in her own half that led to the next goal.

Her pass found Bush who played Amy Edmundson in and her fine running and cross found Kerry Harvey who smashed in her first of the game.

Harvey was instrumental in most of Burnham's attacking play and she got a brace of her own moments later thanks again to Edmundson.

Captain Edmundson deserved to score herself but was denied by fine goalkeeping throughout, so instead turned provider.

Her cross tempted the Eagles' GK out, but Harvey was too quick and got there first to nick the ball past her and roll into an empty goal.
