GOALS from Mark Kilbane, Russell Hicks and Mark Clitsome (2) fired Burnham United to a 5-2 victory over Churchill Club 70 in round one of the Charity Cup.
In the Challenge Cup, Wedmore Reserves also booked their place in the second round with a 2-1 win at Portishead Town B – while in Division Five league action, Wedmore Reserves suffered a heavy defeat to Clapton-in-Gordano Reserves.
They will be looking to make amends this weekend, when they travel to Portishead Town B in the quarter-finals of the Davis Shield – while Wedmore first XI host Cheddar A in Division Three.
Burnham United A travel to Axbridge Town in Division Two.
