Burnham 143-9 beat Huish and Langport 140 by one wicket
ROB Driver was the hero for Burnham as he guided his side to nail-biting one-wicket victory over Huish and Langport on Saturday.
Driver played something of a lone hand with an unbeaten 86, as Burnham chased down 140 with one wicket and 14 balls to spare.
Jim Bloodworth (14), B Adams (12) and Brian Brogden (11no) also chipped in with vital contributions to fire Burnham to a fourth win of the season.
D Shillabeer (3-18), J Banks (2-37), T Haggett (2-29) and W Chapman (2-42) did the damage with the ball for Huish - but they couldn't get rid of Driver, who's sterling effort proved to be the difference between the sides.
Earlier, Mike Green (4-34) was the pick of the Burnham bowlers, taking out the Huish top order with a fine spell of new ball bowling - while at the other end, Driver (2-30) proceeded his batting heroics with an impressive bowling display.
Brian Brogden (1-24) and Toby Keast (3-21) picked up where their opening bowlers had left off with four wickets between them, as only Shillabeer offered any form of resistance with a gritty and well-compiled 55.
T Crocker, at the top of the Huish order, was the next highest scorer, but only two others were able to reach double figures, thanks mainly to the efforts of Green, Driver and Keast.
Burnham travel to Wells this week, before hosting Barrington the following weekend.
