Somerset Division Two West

Kewstoke Lions 0 Highbridge Town 2

HIGHBRIDGE town manager Matt Pitt believes his side are ‘the best in the league’ and described the performance during Saturday’s 2-0 win at Kewstoke Lions as ‘excellent’.

Goals from Chris Taylor and Adam Lock sealed victory for Town and ended a run of two successive defeats – and Pitt said Highbridge thoroughly deserved the three points.

He said: “I thought we were excellent today and really deserved the three points with a fantastic team performance.

“Everyone stood up for each other against a very physical Kewstoke side, our shape was excellent and we thoroughly deserved our first clean sheet of the season.

“All the boys know what we are capable of and we have goals all over the park - if we can put a run together now which continues against Worle next week, then we can start making strides towards promotion, as I really believe we are the best side in this league.”

Town started the game in positive fashion, knocking the ball around with crisp passing and it took midway through the first-half for Chris Taylor to smash the ball home from outside the box after good build up play.
