Somerset Two South
Burnham 2s 53 Midsomer Norton 3s 20
BURNHAM 2nd XV put in a commanding display to thrash Midsomer Norton at the BASC Ground.
Burnham conceded the first try courtesy of a driving maul, but this score fired Burnham into life and the rest of the first half was all Burnham.
Tom Stevens cut a great line from rookie second team fly half Scott Havercroft and his pass found Ben Stacey to score.
From two phases Chris Marsh beat the final defender to go in under the posts – and Ben Gibb then bagged two tries in quick succession.
It was not long before Burnham were back in the Midsomer half and from an infringement at the breakdown, Tim Piper took the quick tap to release a flying Ben Stacey to cross for a try.
Burnham led 34-5 at half-time and in the second half, Mason Shaw, Ben Gibb and Tim Piper all took chances created by the hard work of the Burnham pack.
Burnham II are away to Bridgwater and Albion this weekend, 2.15pm kick-off.
