Huntspill & District 257-7 beat Street II 116 by 141 runs

HUNTSPILL recorded their second win of the season with an 141-run triumph over Street 2nds.

Having been asked to bat first, Huntspill got off to a flying start with Garner and Lillycrop quickly into there stride.

The score raced past 50 in just the seventh over. The introduction of Kev Wall removed Lillycrop with his first ball for 30.

Wall slowed up the scoring rate but Jake Randall with Garner rotated the strike around well to keep the score ticking over.

Garner fell for 34, becoming Wall's second victim (2-17) with the score on 105 in the 21st over.

The new men Matt Counsell and Randall, both looked in great touch a were untroubled as they both were quick to punish any loose balls as the rate began to climb.

Randall really put his foot on the accelerator just after the 30th over hitting a monster of six over the longest boundary before hit a flurry of pulls and drives to take him pass a well deserved half century.

The pair had added 109 in just 16.4 overs when Randall was caught for 64.

Counsell continued where Randall and left off hitting a big six to bring up his own half century then a couple more boundaries before also being bowled for 64 as Huntspill closed on 257-7.

Opening bowlers Mark Crawford and Jordan Podbury hit their straps early, bowling in good areas and it wasn't long before Crawford took a super one handed catch off his own bowing to remove Wayne Wall - and it wasn't long before Podbury had the new man caught behind by Matt Counsell.

Progress was slow with first Kev Wall and Frost battled hard frustrating the Huntspill attack before they fell an over apart to Randall and Dave Counsell to leave the home side in real trouble at 62-4 after 22 overs.

Counsell could have had more rewards but had Dean Wall drop twice early in his innings before Garner dropped him off his own bowling.

Wall with Sheppard hung around determined not to give their wickets away easily and it took a stunning catch from Lillycrop to break the 30 run partnership which had taken 16 overs.

Naygaam with his occasional off spin removed the new man and Counsell soon had the next man, Lee stumped off Randall (2-10).

Wall's gutsy 34 finally came to an end in the final over with Lillycrop removing him thanks to a smart catch by Durkin.

The Street reply ended shortly finishing on 116-8 as the visitors won by 141 runs.
