AFTER their chastening defeat to Tiverton last weekend, Burnham-on-Sea 1st XV go again in their pursuit of a first away win this season in Western Counties West.

They travel to Wellington on Saturday (ko 2.15pm) to face a side who are mired in relegation trouble in 13th spot.

Their 19 points leave them seven behind Burnham, so they have plenty of motivation for this battle between the league strugglers.

As do Burnham, of course, as they look to haul themselves to a safer distance from the dropzone.

The 2nd XV, who were without a game last weekend, host North Petherton 2nds on Saturday (ko 2.30pm).

It sees the side sitting fourth in the Somerset 2 South table entertain the team currently in third place – and victory for Burnham could see them rise as high as second.

Pethy thumped Bridgwater & Albion 3rds 55-5 last Saturday, while Burnham’s last outing saw them defeat Bridgwater 24-17 on December 17.
