TOM Dollery, from Burnham-on-Sea, won a bronze medal representing England in the Under-17 javelin at the Scottish International Athletic Board (S.I.A.B) meeting, in Edinburgh on Saturday.
Competing against those from Ireland, Wales and Scotland, Dollery continued his recent good form to take his place on the podium.
The previous week he picked up a silver medal at the English Schools Athletic Association national finals in Birmingham, with a personal best of 59.76m - the national standard is currently 54 metres.
The top two in the country from this competition are then selected to represent England in the following international meet up.
Dollery, who got into the sport during his time at Brymore Academy in Cannington, trains locally at the Taunton Athletics Club under javelin coach Simon de Wilton.
He also works with his national coach Kelly Bramhald at Loughborough University.
