Cheddar Walking Football Club were on their travels again, following trips to Blackpool and Bolton, this time to the fantastic setting of the Emirates Stadium, in London, in order to play Arsenal last week.

It was agreed by both teams that there would be a two hour playing session involving several short games.

The first couple of matches were close, with just a goal in it either way, and the Cheesmen were delighted to score themselves as a corner from Merv Brean ended up in the back of the Arsenal net.

There were several highlights with further goals for Cheddar from Stuart Barnes, with two, and one from Andy Wright.

Defensively the highlight in one game was  Tim Richens in the Cheddar goal where he was able to keep a clean sheet while Chris King made one worldie amongst a number of other great saves showing his ability as a top goalkeeper against the Gunners.

Overall, the group was tired out after two hours of football, but Cheddar would very much like to thank Arsenal for the hospitality, and even the footballing lesson, and look forward to their next trip.

Cheddar play at Kings Leisure Centre at 7 pm every Wednesday night and anyone is welcome to join.
