Cheddar manager Mike Dangerfield said beating Wincanton Town and drawing with Oldland Abbotonians was a “good week’s work.”

The Cheesmen came from 2-1 down to beat Wincanton 3-2 last Thursday before coming away with a 2-2 draw at Oldland to pick up four points on the road.

Dangerfield said he was "proud of the boys’ effort" at Town and his side "showed character" at Abbotonians.

Dangerfield added that he was happy with his side’s performances in both games against teams high up the Toolstation Western League Division One table.

"Overall, taking four points off two play-off teams in a week, is a good week’s work,” he said.

“Although the Oldland game was bittersweet, the points have put us in a much stronger position in the league, with only one team below us now able to catch us mathematically, but they would need four wins from their last five games.”

Cheddar end their season with successive home games at Bowdens Park to end their season.

Dangerfield and his side take on Wells City later today before hosting AEK Boko this Saturday.

“Now, we have our last two games of the season at home to our local rivals and to a team where we got our first win of the season.”
