Kilmington and Stourton CC - 1st XI 251 / 5 (40.0) def. Huntspill & District CC - 1st XI 149 / All out (34.4)

AFTER a wet start to the season, Huntspill & District 1st finally got their season under way away at the picturesque Kilmington & Stourton.

Jake Randall won the toss and elected bowl first and after a slightly delayed start, Huntspill got off to a great start with Tommy Clarke removing Gillatt for 0 caught by Lismore.

However runs continued to flow until Lismore and Randall were introduced who were both able to apply pressure.

However Mott (58*) & Clare (42*) added 93 in final 13 overs to take the home side to 251-5.

In reply Huntspill were quickly on the back foot with Simon Jones & Tom Garner were back in pavilion with only 22 on the board as Forster & Bryson taking a wicket a piece.

Hand & Randall tried to rebuild taking the score past 55 but Hand was trapped LBW against the impressive spin of Morris (3-33).

Clarke became Bryson's 2nd victim as Huntspill found themselves 57-4.

The young last pair of James & Tregale managed to get Huntspill another batting point with both scoring boundaries before the latter was caught for 8.

Huntspill will be hoping to bounce back next week as they host table toppers Wembdon 2nds.
