Burnham-on-Sea CC 1st XI 117 / All out (27.1) lost to Wells and Horrington CC 1st XI 119 / 1 (21.3)

BURNHAM-on-Sea Cricket Club were handed their third league defeat at the weekend.

Wells and Horrington were nine wickets too good for Burnham in the Somerset Cricket Leagues Division One.

After winning the toss, Wells chose to field first and made the right call as they were able to dismiss Burnham for 117 runs.

Burnham's top order all fell cheaply with Brad House (1), Fred Berry (0), Josh Langer (2), Rob Driver (8) and Wesley Kruger (0) all struggling against Wells bowling attack.

Matt Dibble (16), Lee Coles (21), Matt Denman (24), Peter Harris (8) and Adam Lee (19) had a better go at it but the home side only managed to score 117.

In reply, Wells chased down the total in the 22nd over for loss of just one wicket.

Jack Moore and Henry Hunt both scored half centuries to help the visitors pick up the win.

Josh Langer picked up the only wicket in the match for Burnham.

Burnham now found themselves in sixth place in the league and will look to bounce back away from home against Castle Cary next Saturday.
