West Monkton CC 239 / All out (41) lost to Burnham-on-Sea CC 241 / 4 (35)
BURNHAM-on-Sea Cricket Club ended the 2023 season with a strong win away from home against West Monkton CC.
The match in Division One of the Somerset Cricket Leagues saw Burnham win by six wickets after a spirited run chase.
West Monkton won the toss and chose to bat first and went on to set the target of 239 when they were all out in the 41st over.
Jack Turner top scored for the hosts with 85 runs opening the bat and Dave Cole added 47 runs down the order.
Peter Harris took three wickets to end with the best figures going for 28 runs off six overs.
In reply, Burnham would have thought it was a trickt target to chase down but they managed to do so in just 35 overs.
Josh Langer scored a very impressive 111 run century opening the batting for Burnham and carried his side to a strong start.
Rob Driver scored 45 runs not out and was at the crease to score the winning runs to wrap up the season.
The result sees Burnham finish in seventh place in the league table and concludes a season that had some highs and some lows.
