THE Jan Mackay Memorial Cup 2011 was won by Avenue Tennis Club captain Richard Belfield and new club member Jane Macauley as the pair managed to win all five matches.
Second place went to Ladies’ club captain Lynn O Dell and Ian Phillips.
Head coach Vinny Duddy said: “I would like to thank Mr Mackay for presenting the trophies and Barry Ramsden for running the tournament in his absence.
“Thanks and well done to Jessica Griffiths, junior committee member and Avenue academy player, who played as the male player with last tournament winner Carrie Vohra.”
Other events at the club include a mini red tournament from 11am to 1pm, a Mini Orange competition from 1pm to 3pm and a Green Ball Tournament on Sunday, November 27.
The club will also be holding a Junior Tennis Camp from December 19 to 23 from 9am to 4pm, and their annual Family and Friends Christmas Lunch will be held on Sunday, December 4 from 12.30pm. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for under-12s.
