BURNHAM United Reserves continued their revival under new manager Alex Taylor and assistant John Lane with a draw at promotion hunting Churchill Club 70, to make it two wins; two draws and a loss in their last five games.

Burnham started the game quick off the blocks took the lead after 20 minutes with a quick decisive passing move involving attacking trio Joe Selway, who passed to Harding, who then delivered a low pinpoint pass to the back post where Joe Rossiter ghosted in to slot the ball home for a well deserved lead.

Churchill equalised before the break to ruin the hard work of midfielders Ed Lamb, Aaron Hardwidge and captain Mike Stevens who commanded the middle of the park.

The second half saw Burnham produce several chances from distance and half chances in the box and they re-took the lead when Selway finished superbly after he was put in clean on goal and dinked the keeper as he went to ground at his feet.

Rossiter's fine individual effort nearly extended Burnham's lead but any hopes of a win were dashed when a deflected shot from Churchill fell to the home side's striker and he made no mistake from two yards out.

Manager Taylor said: “Assistant John Lane and I are so proud of all the players today.

“We are improving and have moved from bottom of the league and picked up eight out of 15 points - the turnaround in the players' confidence is great.”

The team have no game this weekend.
