WEDMORE were saved by the rain on Saturday as Barrington finished ten runs short of the winning line when rain forced the players off the field.

K Wall and G Frazer hit 23 apiece with M Boley (21) to help Wedmore post 104 on a difficult wicket for scoring on.

Then in reply, Barrington reached 95-2 in the 21st over when rain ruined proceedings.

In Division 3, Huntspill and District's run of rain affected matches continued as their clash with Bagborough fell foul to the weather conditions.

Mark wrapped up a quick win over Leigh on Mendip to avoid being caught by the rain in Division 5.

Wickets from D Worthington (-211), P Spelman (2-22), M Mitchell (3-9) and T Moxey (1-22) ensured their skittled the home side for 71.

In reply, an unbeaten 41 from N Wasiliey and 22 not out from Worthington saw their side to victory despite the loss of three early wickets.

In Division 8NE, Mark 2nds had their match at home to Wells 2nds was cancelled due to the weather.

Wedmore 2nds managed to get some part of a game in against Horrington. M Lee (76 not out) and P Paul (61 not out) ensured Wedmore posted a commanding 212-4 before they restricted the home side to 12-1 after 10 overs when the rain came.

Division 9NW saw Wedmore A involved in a rain affected draw over Uphill Castle Crusaders.

E Curtin (3-37) and J McQuarrie (4-46) helped to dismiss Uphill for 147 but only seven overs were possible in reply, leaving Wedmore on 14-2.

Huntspill and District 2nds hit 115-7 against Belvedere before they match was cancelled. D Counsell had top scored with 24.

East Huntspill 2nds bowled Weston super Mare out for 143 with wickets for G Gass (3-32) and S Clement (4-54) but they only managed 6-0 from five balls in reply before rain stopped play.
