IT'S been a bittersweet week for Finn Bass, the promising tennis player from Wedmore.
Just hours after securing the singles title at the 12U AEGON British Junior National Championships in Bournemouth, Bass was vying for his second gong of the day in the doubles tournament.
But he and his partner Oshi Leverton, of Cornwall, lost to the Yorkshire pairing of Joshua Lazenby and Aaron Yang 7-5, 6-4 at the West Hants Club.
The duo were in control of the opener and gained two set points before a sterling comeback from their opponents. Afterwards they endeavoured to regain momentum but struggled to get back on the front foot as their opponents took control to see off the final.
Bass said: βIt's tough because we had two set points in the opening set. I was feeling quite tired and was cramping.β
