BURNHAM got their league season off to a flying start with an impressive win at home.

Alannah Frost linked midfield and attack and caused problems by running at the visitors defence whenever she could.

This resulted in the first goal created down the right and finished by the skilful Kerry Harvey.

The versatile Louise Peace doubled the home sides lead shortly after with an almost identical move which led to a penalty corner. Having taken the corner she was then on hand at the far post for a tap in after good work in the D by Harvey and Carly Bush.

With Beth Ingram controlling the midfield and Ali Evely showing great stamina and work rate raiding forward from both sides of the midfield to support the attack, Burnham won themselves numerous penalty corners.

It was from one of these that Captain Bush cracked home the third with a strike from top D.

Sue Solomon, Sam Course and Sarah Johnson rarely looked troubled and goalkeeper Sian Kelly only had to make a couple of her usual top quality saves.

Bush was again the penetrative force as she drove into the D and just nicked the ball past the out rushing goalkeeper, leaving it for Fisher to control and slot into an empty goal.

Player of the match: Chelsea Fisher, sponsored by The Rosewood PH The team's next match is at Weston super Mare on Saturday. Training continues at King Alfred school on Mondays from 7-8pm.
