Team Lick Racing at Brands Hatch
TEAM Lick Racing descended on Brands Hatch for the final round of the BMCRC and ACU/FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship and emerged triumphant.
It started with an ACU/FSRA free practice to blow the cobwebs away and get Nicholls and Moore into the right frame of mind. Qualifying for the BMCRC and the ACU/FSRA wasn’t what the team was hoping for but still qualified in good grid positions. The first race of the day soon came around and it was eight laps for the club round.
A good start saw Nicholls and Moore pick their way through the field to claim fourth position. Next on the list was ACU/FSRA British F2 race over 16 laps. A fantastic race full of action, and close racing saw the QEH Systems backed outfit finish fourth in the British Cup series. Later that day was race two of the BMCRC and it saw a crazy first lap with sidecars going all out.
Nicholls and Moore avoided getting caught up and bought the Highbridge Motortech outfit home in third. Sunday was a cloudy start and the team were determined to improve and progress further. Race One of the BMCRC for Sunday saw them take a well-deserved third after fending off another rival.
The second and final race of the ACU/FSRA British F2 race was over 18 laps. Nicholls and Moore got a brilliant start being right in the mix and pushed hard. They were battling with another outfit all race long and were swapping and changing positions every other corner. On the final lap the red flag came out due to an incident but Nicholls and Moore were ahead to take the third place podium in the Cup.
After a long weekend, the final race of the BMCRC was a hard one after a long day but the team finished in good second place. Team Lick Racing went home with eight trophies after an excellent weekend’s racing. l The next round for Team Lick Racing is at Thruxton with NGRRC on the October 6.
