Okehampton 19, Burnham 11
BURNHAM suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday as they were beaten 19-11 away at Okehampton.
The visitors were far from their best and were made to pay by Devonian opposition.
Burnham, who have been in superb form so far this campaign were out-thought, outplayed and at times looked lost as their opponents played with far more conviction.
All the aspects of Burnham’s game in which they usually excel were all well below par - as their scrummaging, mauling and teamwork all fell apart.
Rich Muskett scored Burnham’s try and Tim Piper added two penalties, but it wasn’t enough to snatch victory on the day.
Burnham must now put the result behind them and concentrate on their forthcoming match against Truro next Saturday (November 9).
