Whitehall 3 Burnham 29

BURNHAM put in a commanding performance as they cruised to a 29-3 victory at Whitehall on Saturday.

The visitors ran in five tries courtesy of Jordy Paul, Dan Spelman (2), Jordyn Wikiteria and Richard Muskett, while Paul kicked two conversions.

Playing with the wind at their backs in the first half, Burnham had the lion’s share of possession.

After 30 minutes Burnham turned the ball over on the Whitehall 22 and slick passing along the line saw Jordy Paul speed into a gap to score the first try.

Straight after the break, following a scrum and some great driving play from the forwards, flanker Dan Spelman went over in the corner.

Burnham continued to dominate in open play with Wikiteria, McKechan and Gowan at the heart of everything.

In defence Burnham were immense, with some big hits from Dickins and Muskett not allowing Whitehall any space at all.

Eventually with some impressive driving play of their own, Whitehall earned a penalty that their full-back converted.

Burnham continued to dominate open play and after a great display of forward control, Jordyn Wikiteria drove over and Jordy Paul converted to make it 17-3.

Now Burnham had total control of the game and it was not long before centre Muskett found a gap and went over for the bonus point try, which Jordy Paul converted.

Finally Dan Spelman went over in the corner following some slick passing by Muskett and replacement Ashley Tucker.

Burnham host Chew Valley this Saturday (2.15pm).
