BURNHAM-ON-SEA 1st XV return to action on Saturday with a huge match at home to Bude (ko 2.30pm).

Burnham are on a five-game losing streak and have fallen to second bottom in the Western Counties West table.

Four of those losses came on the road, so Burnham will look to make the most of home advantage against 11th-placed Bude, who are just one point ahead of them.

Bude won the reverse fixture 22-20 in October, so avenging that defeat would go a long way towards getting Burnham back on track as they seek to scramble out of the relegation mire they have now slipped into.

Burnham’s 2nds have not played since January 21 – as their scheduled visitors on January 28, Midsomer Norton 3rds, failed to raise a side.

This weekend they travel to Winscombe 2nds (ko 2.15pm).

Second-placed Winscombe are two spots and seven points up on Burnham in Somerset 2 South, helped by having won 41-22 at Burnham in October.
