BRIDGWATER College recently hosted the annual Somerset Schools Football Tournament for boys and girls in the Under-11s age group.

Competitors came from all over the County, and the winners will attend the national tournament.

The tournament, attended by over 360 children, was run by the College’s Level 2 Coaching in Community Settings students, from both Bridgwater and Bristol, who refereed and scored the games, and assisted the schools’ PE teachers in coaching their teams.

Steve Gass, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership event organiser said: “This was a trio of county finals with a place in the regional finals awaiting each of the three category winners.

"The College did a fantastic job in hosting and officiating at the event, and our congratulations go to St Stephens, Ash and Elmhurst schools who were the winners of their competition categories.”

Brendan Dix, Somerset FA Tournament Co-ordinator said: “Somerset FA would like to congratulate Bridgwater College’s students for supporting Somerset Schools FA’s County Finals, run by the Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership.”
