NORTH Petherton gave a superb performance to defeat Tone Youth 3-1 in Division One of the Taunton & District League on Saturday.

The visitors stroked the ball around for the first time this season, and a superb pass from player-manager Lewis Irish set Senna Clapp away to add another to his tally for the season.

Josh Gracie nodded in the second just before half-time with Tone scoring through Rich Bethell in the dying minutes, but there was still time for Tom Williams to waltz through the Tone defence to seal the win 3-1.

Second and third placed teams Bridgwater Sports and Middlezoy Rovers drew 0-0, and there was another draw between Wyvern Rangers and Bishops Lydeard Reserves, both scoring twice.

In Division Two, The Gallery were 4-2 winners at Alcombe Rovers with Mark Pope and Jamie Evans netting for the visitors. Andrew Land and Martyn Phillips scored one each for Alcombe.

Wembdon battled to a 3-2 win at Nether Stowey courtesy of goals from Matt Washer, Andrew Skidmore and Si Lukins.

George Pike and Mark Wadham were on target for Stowey, but Wembdon left with the points.

Morganians beat Stogursey 3-2 away with Andrew James netting twice and Tom Hughes once.

Dan Mosedale got one of Stogursey’s goals and the other was an own goal.

Woolavington closed the gap on Division Three leaders Sydenham Rangers, who were not playing, with a 7- 2 victory over Galmington Dragons.

Josh Crockett hit a hat-trick, Sam Godfrey added two, and Liam Neil and Liam Tomlinson scored one each, while Chris and Oliver Tucker scored for Dragons.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves beat local rivals Highbridge Town Reserves 3-0 with goals from George Turner, Ed Howes and a John Wilde penalty.

In Division Four, North Petherton and Middlezoy Athletic drew 1-1 with Adam Sevc scoring for Rovers and Chris Harman for Pethy.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers and Porlock Reserves shared the points, 2-2.

Kev James and Chris Boyd-Payne netted for Porlock, and it was a hard fought contest with Rob Adams getting one of the Grasshoppers goals and the goal of the game, scored by Dan Saunders with a 40-yard volley straight into the top corner.

East Bower had a convincing 8-1 win over Morganians Reserves in Division Five with Josh Jones, Shane Frost and Louis Watts each scoring a brace.

Mike Watts and Richard Eckley added one each with Daniel Frost getting Morganians’ consolation goal.

North Curry continued their winning run with a clinical display at home, beating Bridgwater Sports Colts 5-2.

Zac Gratton dominated the midfield and scored two goals, and Joe Gratton scored all the other three, while veteran Gary Howes netted both Sports goals.

Bridgwater Wolves beat Nether Stowey Reserves 6-2 for whom Shay Keohane and Stewart Rigby scored.

Joe Edgar hit a hat-trick for Wolves, Jake Sharman added two and Ash Mills scored one.

The game between Hamilton Athletic Foxes and The Gallery Reserves was played in high spirits, but The Gallery won the game 4-3.
