HIGHBRIDGE Town manager Matt Pitt will accept “nothing but a win” this weekend as his side host Cheddar.

Town's scheduled cup game with Worle last weekend was the victim of a heavy downpour shortly before kick-off leading to a late postponement - but Pitt is looking forward to getting back to business this weekend and says his side know what is expected of them.

He said: “Saturday was disappointing - you get yourself geared up for the game and then the downpour left the pitch unplayable.

“But with Cheddar this weekend, we expect nothing less than a win from the game and the lads know that.

“We should have beaten them earlier in the season but didn't turn up on the day, so being at home this time, we know we must get three points from the game.”

The cup clash with Worle is to be replayed on November 22 and Pitt will use the game to give opportunities to some fringe players.

He said: “There are a few lads who are on at me to give them a chance and that's what I'm going to do in the cup game.

“We'll use it give some of the younger and reserves team players a chance to prove themselves.”
