BRIDGWATER Sports moved into the quarter-final of the Rowbarton Cup with a convincing 6-0 victory over Bishops Lydeard Reserves.

Matt Stevenson hit a hat-trick, Matt Fursland added two and Paul Organ one.

Bridgwater Wolves joined them after an even better win, 7-0 over Hamilton Athletic Foxes. Brad Walford was the leading marksman with four, Ashley Mills with two and one from Charlie Hill.

In Division 1, North Petherton beat high-flying 2-1 Locomotives. They took the lead with yet another Ryan Vickery penalty but Pethy hit back with a Tom Williams header early in the second half to equalise, before a late Lewis Irish free kick won them the game.

There was a nine-goal thriller at Middlezoy Rovers Reserves where they beat Tone Youth 5-4. It was a hard-fought contest which could have been won by either side but Zoy came out on top with two goals from Jack Warren, and one each from Jacob Bennett, John Doyle and James Hatch.

Westonzoyland scored three late goals as they finally made their chances count to record a 3-0 victory over Stogursey in Division 2.

Ollie Ham opened the scoring with only 15 minutes left before they added two more to seal victory through an own goal and a close-range effort from James Millard.

Wembdon went in at half time 3-0 up against Morganians thanks to two goals in quick succession from Matt Washer and Dan Casson. A tap-in from close range by Ollie Jones completed the first half scoring.

Morganians pulled a goal back in the second half through Ashley Clapp but Andrew Skidmore was on hand to head home to secure the points for Wembdon with a 4-1 win.

In Division 3, Redgate beat Galmington Dragons 3-1 on their own ground thanks to goals from Jack Hamblin, Steve Redman and Sergio da Silva Faria.

Division 4 leaders Creech Cougars lost their 100% record in a thrilling 5-5 draw with Middlezoy Athletic, see the Big Match on page 75.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers and North Petherton Reserves shared the points with a 3-3 draw. Dan Saunders, Shane Thompson and Rob Adams all netted for Grasshoppers with Kyte, Case and Buller doing the same for Pethy.

In Division 5, Bridgwater Sports Colts beat The Gallery Reserves 4-0 to see them leap from third to the top of the table thanks to two Gary Howes goals and one each from Aaron Walford and Matt Parker.
