WESTONZOYLAND’S 3-0 victory over Wembdon in the Rowbarton Charity Cup third round earns them a quarter-final contest against top Taunton & District Saturday League Division 1 side Locomotives.
Their goals were scored by Paul Burrow, Jake Gillard and an own goal.
In the Knockout Cup quarter-final, North Petherton beat favourites Bridgwater Sports on penalties to book a place in the last four, following a 2-2 draw in normal time.
There was no score in the first period and, after 10 minutes and some good work from Hart, a goalmouth scramble enabled Senna Clapp to score and put Pethy in front.
A free header at the far post by the ageing Jason Bale equalised for Sports.
The concentration and confidence seemed to be drained and two minutes later Sports made it 2-1 with the in-form Paul Organ scoring.
Josh Gracie swung in a perfect cross for Pethy’s Jolly to head home unopposed – and both teams pushed for a last-gasp winner but couldn’t find a way through.
The game went straight to penalties and Pethy triumphed 4-2 in the shootout.
