BRIDGWATER Sports marched into the semi-finals of the Taunton & District Saturday League’s Rowbarton Charity Cup with a 12-2 demolition of Bridgwater Wolves.

There were three hat-tricks from Paul Organ, Matt Stevenson and Matt Fursland, with Joe Clark adding two and Den Organ one.

In the West Somerset Rose Bowl, Middlezoy Rovers Reserves needed a penalty shoot-out to see off The Gallery, triumphing 3-1 from the spot.

The all-Division 2 encounter between Wembon and Morganians resulted in a 4-1 win for Morganians thanks to a hattrick from Andrew James and one from Ben Searle; Si Lukins replied for Wembdon.

There was another game that couldn’t be decided in two hours and that was Bridgwater Sports Reserves versus Wyvern Rangers, with the scores level at 4-4.

Brendan Pope scored two for Sports, Gareth Monaghan and Callum James added one each – but Sports won the shoot-out.

In the Gardner Cup, Hamilton Athletic Foxes were 4-2 winners against Bridgwater, and Bridgwater Sports Colts beat local rivals Morganians Reserves 3-1 with goals from Gary Howes, Josh Smith and Harry Wollacott; Chris Rogers replied for Morganians.

Highbridge Reserves beat Nether Stowey 2-1, Andrew Mockridge and Ben O’Halloran scoring for Town; Lewis Scrimgeour got the Stowey goal.

In Division 1, Bridgwater Sports beat Bishops Lydeard Reserves 4-1 in sleet and strong winds – and Sampford Blues and North Petherton shared the points with a 2-2 draw.

Luke Lawrence scored for Blues and Pethy provided their second with an own goal.

North Petherton Reserves had a 2-1 home victory over Wiveliscombe in Division 4, thanks to goals from Lewis Buller and Scott Harman; Ash Roberts got the Wivey goal.

In Division 5, East Bower just edged a seven-goal thriller against The Gallery Reserves, despite leading 4-1 at half-time.
