BRIDGWATER Sports Reserves’ cup campaign came to an end at Staplegrove when they were beaten 4-1 in the Rowbarton Charity Cup quarter-final.

Scott Reynolds scored a hat-trick for the Grove to fire them into the last four.

In Division One, with Locomotives not playing it gave leaders Bridgwater Sports the chance to open up a gap at the top of the table, and they did so with some class, beating Tone Youth 7-2.

Sports started the game very well and went ahead after ten minutes when Paul Organ headed home.

Matthew Fursland bagged a hat-trick for Sports in an impressive performance.

North Petherton completed the treble over Middlezoy Rovers Reserves with a last-minute winner from Senna Clapp, who headed home a cross from Brady Hart to seal a 3-2 win.

Paul Goss scored two of Rovers’ goals and Shaun Turner the other.

There were seven goals at Porlock, where the home side beat Sampford Blues 4-3 thanks to strikes from Matt Knowles, Adam Langdon, Tom McCarthy and an own goal courtesy of the Blues, who had Jack Kelly, Luke Lawrence and Matt Holmes score for them at the correct end.

In Division Two, with leaders Alcombe Rovers on cup duty it gave The Gallery the chance to close the gap on them, which they did, but by only one point rather than the three they would have liked after they were held to a goalless draw by Morganians.

Westonzoyland and Wembdon also shared the points in a 1-1 draw, and it was the same score at Minehead where they drew with local rivals Watchet Town Reserves, Kai Usher scoring for Minehead and Aaron Scott for Watchet.

Division Three leaders Sydenham Rangers took on runners-up Woolavington, but showed their superiority with a convincing 6-0 victory to maintain their 100% league record.

On target were Jake Adey with a pair, Carl Jones, Jason Stephenson, Martyn Milton and Cam Wilkinson.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves bounced back from their midweek cup defeat to beat Galmington Dragons 10-4.

Callum James and Brandon Pope scored four goals each, while the other two were added by John Wilde and a Dragons own goal.

Scoring for Galmington were Charlie Bevan with two, Chris Tucker and Josh Mosley.

In Division Four, North Petherton Reserves played 65 minutes with only ten men against Bridgwater Grasshoppers after an off the ball incident saw a player dismissed, but they managed to earn a 3-3 draw.

Ash Rangers won in their late kick-off against Middlezoy Athletic 2-1 with Tom Wadham getting both goals – Graham Gaddy scored the Middlezoy goal.

In Division Five, Bishops Lydeard Colts drew 1- 1 with Bridgwater Wolves to close the gap on leaders The Gallery Reserves by one point, and East Bower have closed the gap on Bridgwater Sports Colts, beating them 2-1 thanks to goals from Shane Frost and Mike Watts. Gary Howes responded for Sports.
